Broncos beat Chargers, remain in first

The Denver Broncos beat the San Diego Chargers 17-3 on Sunday, Dec. 6. Denver has improved to 10-2, and they are in first place in AFC West. San Diego has fallen to 3-9, and they are fourth in AFC East.

Denver plays their next game on Sunday, Dec. 13 against another division rival, the Oakland Raiders. Oakland is 5-7, and third in the division.

San Diego will also be playing a division rival. They’ll play the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, Dec. 13. Kansas City is 7-5, and second in the division.

Brock Osweiler, who came up big against the Patriots, threw for 166 yard against the Chargers. He completed 16 out of 26 passes. Osweiler had one touchdown and one interception during the game.

Ronnie Hillman led the rushing attack. Hillman ran the ball 19 times for 56 yards. His longest run of the game was 11 yards.

Demaryius Thomas was Denver’s main receiver. He caught six passes for 61 yards. Thomas had one touchdown, and his longest reception was 21 yards.

Philip Rivers had a total of 202 yards through the air. He completed 18 out of 35 passes and had one interception.

Rookie Melvin Gordon led the team in rushing. He carried the ball 12 times for 55 yards. His longest run was 21 yards.

Tight end Antonio Gates led San Diego in receiving. Gates had six catches for 50 yards. His longest reception was 15 yards.

San Diego looks awful right now, and it certainly helped Brock Osweiler. After upsetting the Patriots and shocking the world, it was a surprise that he defeated the Chargers. Against Oakland, he should get another win under his belt.
