Chiefs top Oakland Raiders

Alex Smith and the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Oakland Raiders 34-20 on Sunday, Dec. 6. The Chiefs have improved to 7-5, and they are in second in AFC West. Oakland has fallen to 5-7, and they are in third place in AFC West.
The Chiefs will play the Chargers on Sunday, Dec. 13. The Chargers are 3-9 and are fourth in AFC West.
Oakland will play the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Dec. 13. Denver is 10-2 and they are in first place in AFC West.
Alex Smith threw for 162 yards, completing 16 out of 22 passes. He had two touchdowns on the day.
Charcandrick West led the team in rushing against Oakland. West carried the ball nine times for 35 yards. His longest carry was 18 yards.
Former Eagle Jeremy Maclin led the team in receiving that game. Maclin caught nine passes for a total of 95 yards. He had two touchdowns and his longest reception was 16 yards.
Derek Carr amassed 283 yards through the air, going 31 for 48 on passing attempts. Carr had three touchdowns and two interceptions.
Letavius Murray was Oakland’s lead rusher that game. Murray ran the ball 20 times for 86 yards on the ground. His longest run was a 35-yard scamper, and he had one touchdown.
Rookie Amari Cooper was the Raiders’ leading receiver, catching four passes for a total of 69 yards. His longest reception was 23 yards.
Overall, I really expected Oakland to win this game. The previous week, they beat the Titans on the road. Yes, I know it’s the Titans, but I figured that would be a confidence booster, and that success would rub off on their home game. But that wasn’t the case. They’ve flashed signs of hope, but not enough.
