Mariota’s 87-yard TD lifts Titans over Jags

The Tennessee Titans beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 42-39 on Sunday, Dec. 6. The Titans improved to 3-9, and are in fourth place in AFC South. Jacksonville fell to 4-8, and is third in AFC South.
Jacksonville plays their next game on Sunday, Dec. 13 against the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts are 6-6 and are first in AFC South.
Tennessee plays again on Sunday, Dec. 13 against the New York Jets. The Jets are 7-5 and are second in AFC East.
Jacksonville’s Blake Bortles threw for 322 yards, completing 24 out of 36 passes. He had five touchdowns on the day.
T.J. Yeldon led the Jags in rushing. He ran the ball 15 times for 57 yards. He had one touchdown, and his longest run was nine yards.
Allen Robinson was the number one receiver on Jacksonville. Robinson caught 10 passes for 153 yards. He had three touchdowns and his longest reception was 44 yards.
Marcus Mariota had 268 yards passing; completing 20 out of 29 passes. He had three touchdowns and one interception.
He also led the team in rushing. On nine scrambles, he had 112 yards and one touchdown. His longest run was an 87-yard touchdown run.
Dorial Green-Beckham led the team in receiving. Green-Beckham caught five passes for 119 yards. His one touchdown was his longest reception, 44 yards.
Mariota was great this game, and he was playing like he did in week one. The Jaguars put up a good fight, but they fell short. The key is protecting Mariota. When the offensive line thrives, the whole Titans offense does.
