Lost in the Shuffle: Rixton’s debut ‘Let the Road’ drops in February
Boy band talent breaks out of the U.K.
December 31, 2014
Like many artists waiting to catch their big break, just a year and a half ago the band Rixton was making home videos and hoping that someone would pick up on their talent.
Fast forward to tonight when they performed the single “Hotel Ceiling” on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. All the way from Manchester, England, an English four-member pop/R&B boy band has been born.
At the start of 2013 the band was still gigging at hole-in-the-wall venues. Then, in July of 2014, Rixton knocked off their competition Ariana Grande, Will I.AM., and Nicole Scherzinger to hit the No. 1 spot with their single, “Me and My Broken Heart,” which was released on March 14.
In it, Jake Roche, the lead singer, talks about getting more out of relationships and working on the bond rather than playing games.
They followed this song with “Wait On Me,” another relationship song.
The lyrics say, “I never wanna be your ex-man, I’ll never make you feel ignored. You can go and find your next man, but I know what you’re waiting for.”
The group has now put in a number of television appearances, including a performance on The Voice, and beginning February 12, they will be going on a world tour with Ariana Grande.
I think all teenagers, like me, like to listen to sappy songs having to do with relationships, romance, and bumps in the road along the way. Of course, we won’t admit it if you ask us, but come on, guys, you know we do.
When you’re trying to cope with the good and bad times in your relationships, check out Rixton’s music.
Look for these songs and more on the release of their upcoming debut album, “Let The Road.”
The CD’s release date is January 13, 2015, so don’t spend your iTunes gift cards all at once, save some of it to purchase Rixton’s new album and start pre-ordering now for a discounted price during the first week of January.
