Vikings will beat Falcons

November 27, 2015

The Minnesota Vikings will travel to Atlanta on Sunday to play Matt Ryan and the Falcons. The Vikings are 7-3 and are second in their conference, NFC North. In their most recent game, they lost to division rival Packers by a score of 30-13. The Falcons are 6-4, and are also second in their division, NFC South. They lost to the Colts on Sunday by a score of 24-21.

The Vikings are led in passing by second-year quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who played college football at Louisville. Bridgewater has completed 188 out of 291 passes for 2106 yards. He has eight touchdowns on the season.

Unsurprisingly, the Vikings are led in rushing by Adrian Peterson, who has rushed 208 times this season, collecting 1006 yards. Peterson currently averages over four yards per carry and has six touchdowns so far this year.

Stefon Diggs leads the team in receiving. Diggs has caught 36 passes so far this season for 573 yards. He is averaging 15.9 yards per catch this year and has two touchdowns.

Atlanta is led in passing by quarterback Matt Ryan. Ryan has thrown for 2982 yards this season. He has completed 264 out of 403 passes this season. He also has 15 touchdowns on the season.

Rookie Devonta Freeman leads the team in rushing. Freeman has carried the ball 167 times this season, picking up 764 yards. Currently, he averages over four yards per carry and has nine touchdowns on the season.

Julio Jones is the team’s number one receiver. On the season Jones has caught 89 passes for a total of 1189 yards. He averages 13.4 yards per catch and has six touchdowns on the season.

For this game I’m taking the Vikings. They have a stronger defense and have more weapons offensively than the Falcons. Teddy Bridgewater can be a dual threat when protected and he also can hand the ball off to Adrian Peterson, who is a monster. In the passing game, the Falcons only have Julio Jones. The Vikings have Stefon Diggs as well as Tight End Kyle Rudolph. Devonta Freeman is a good running back, but the Vikings defensive line should keep him quiet this game.

Update: Vikings 20, Falcons 10
