Winston and Tampa Bay overcome Falcons

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Atlanta Falcons 23-19 on Sunday, Dec. 6. The Buccaneers improved to a record of 6-6, and are in second place in NFC South. The Falcons have an overall record of 6-6 now and are in third place in NFC South.

The Buccaneers will play their next game on Sunday, Dec. 13, against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints are 4-8, and are in fourth place in NFC South.

The Falcons will play the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, Dec. 13. Carolina is 12-0 and is in first place in NFC South.

Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan threw for 269 yard that game, completing 30 out of 45 passes. He had one touchdown on the night.

Devonta Freeman led the Falcons in rushing. He ran the ball 14 times for just 47 yards. His longest run was 14 yards.

Julio Jones was Atlanta’s main receiver against Tampa Bay. Jones caught eight passes for 93 yards. His longest reception of the night was 25 yards.

Rookie Jameis Winston completed 18 out of 27 passes for 227 yards. He had one touchdown and one interception that game.

Doug Martin was the leading rusher for Tampa Bay. Martin carried the ball 25 times for 95 yards. He had one touchdown, and his longest run was 14 yards.

Vincent Jackson was Winston’s main target. He caught three passes for 87 yards. His longest reception was 36 yards.

Jameis Winston has been looking great lately, and this is another victory under his belt. It’s pretty impressive for a rookie, to lead his team to second in a competitive conference. Winston should have a harder game though, against New Orleans, who gave the Panthers a hard time.
