The KS Maui tennis boys’ record improved to 1-1 when they won against King Kekaulike High School yesterday on their home courts.

They swept singles play 4-1.  Sophomore Devonte Llanes defeated Kekaulike’s Justin Holzer 6-4 and 6-4.  Freshman Justin Fernandez had a 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory and senior Keali’i Ka’aikala won by default.

In doubles play, seniors Nohea Duro and Vinson Sylva won 6-2, 6-1.

Freshman Avi Singh and sophomore Noeau Perez lost 6-2 and 6-1.

The KS Maui girls tennis team lost the meet. Their team standing is now 0-2.

Sophomore Brandi Silva was victorious in her singles match, 6-1 and 6-2.

Sophomore Shanise Ka’aikala also won her match 6-4, 6-3.

Sophomore Kelcey Lorenzo rallied with Kekaulike’s Kaelyn Okuhata until a 6-7, 6-2, 6-3 loss.

Senior Kendra Kaaa and junior Abby Okazaki also had a loss, 7-5 and 6-2.

Juniors Melia Mattos and Chalee Batungbacal lost 7-5 and 6-4.
