Kiana Kamalu

Kiana Kamalu, Op-Ed Editor

Senior Kiana Kamalu is back at Kamehameha Schools, and this year she is taking on Journalism II. As opinion/editorial editor, she plans to try to be the best editor Ka Leo o Na Koa has ever seen, so the title of best newspaper in the state will still belong to Kamehameha Schools Maui Campus.

In her past experience as a staff writer at Desert Hills High School, the procedure of creating a newspaper was much different, but she will adjust. She welcomes the challenges of late nights, last-minute articles, frustrating writer’s block, and all the rest that comes with being a Ka Leo o Na Koa journalist.

Kiana is devoted to reading, loves to spend time with her friends, and adores rainy days. She plans to go to college after high school and wants to study English/Creative Writing. She intends to become a very successful author and editor.

Kiana trusts her final year will be a success and hopes all will enjoy her stories for the paper.
